Saturday, September 7th 2019, 10:00am
Entry cut-off will be Thursday, September 5th at 9:00pm. No further entries will be accepted.
All entries must be paid by 9:30am the day of the show.
To speed up the event and to accommodate as many riders as possible, the following will apply for the Russell Fair:
- There will be a Leadline and Peewee division starting at 10:00 a.m. (If the parent/coach needs to be in the ring with the rider, he or she is required to be in lead-line class)
- Classes available to Leadline and Peewee will be Barrels, Dash and Keyhole
Following the Leadline and Peewee class there will be a 20 minute warm up period for the Youth and Senior riders.
We will then drag and set up for poles.
There will be a ring drag after every 10 horses. Before the end of each drag the next 10 horses to run should be in attendance at the start end of the ring. At all times the next two horses to run will be at the gate or in one of the pens at the start end of the arena. If you are not ready to make your run immediately after the horse ahead completes their run you will be disqualified.
A barrel or marker knock down will result in a no-time (N/T). In the event of a knock down you will be alerted by a whistle from the ring judge and you will be expected to stop your run and exit the ring directly.
There will be 2D for Youth and Senior divisions in the barrels and keyhole classes. The 2D split will be 1.0 seconds for Youth and 1.0 seconds for Senior. This is based on historical performance at the Fair.
Please note: No points will be awarded for team events. Points will only be awarded in Peewee, Youth and Senior classes for Barrels, Dash, Keyhole, Flag and Pole Bending.
Team classes are Relay and Pick-up. Entry fees are $8 per horse so $16 for relay and $8 for pick-up. Payouts for team events are $50, $40, $30, $20, $10. Double entry for relay so double pay out.
